NotesFedden is just a ruin (no bothy) but it may provide some firm green ground to camp and the walls provide shelter if cooking in a wind. I have climbed these hills before. I'm not sure how they ended up on my to-do list! I had forgot that I had done Meall na h-Eilde and Geal Charn. They cannot have been very memorable! The Ciste Dubh Car Park off the A87 may be better than approaching from Mandally which offers limited parking possibilities.

13 August 2006Ben Tee - I saw a man on a quad collecting cones used to mark the fell race. I could have done the race had I known in advance! There was mist above 600m and some light rain.

16 August 2006My entry in my Corbetts book says "Light rain and clag."
|
16 August 2006Apparently, I saw a treecreeper low down the Allt Dubh.
