Above image taken during the descent as the sun dropped to the horizon: Ben Horn across Loch Horn.
5 October 2016
I had been looking forward to doing Ben Horn for some time and with the weather so fine, I seized the moment. The route follows a good track up to Loch Horn and then up mossy and heathery slopes to the top.
Though it was a beautiful day, the clarity was not quite what I had hoped for in order to obtain high definition shots of distant hills but the colours and effects that could be captured justified running up with a decent camera, as seen here looking towards the Corbett Carn Chuinneag.
The Mann and The Mannie!
My original plan had been to head down by the same route, reaching Golspie in time to join the Jogscotland group in Golspie but I decided to head west to capture the setting sun. Like most people, I detest the rapid increase in wind farms across Scotland, but I would concede that they add something to this photograph.
