Onpyeong - Pyoseon Olle
These were the first Olle trails I had walked since the end of May. There had been the Summer spent in Scotland and on my return, the weather was very hot and humid, which is normal for the time of year. Also, work had been horrendously busy, with the marking of Internal assessments and extended essays. I had decided that the time had come to drag myself away from work for a couple of days and it also worked out that there was a football match between Jeju and Suwon on my way home.

Next to the Gansa stamping point, there is a signpost to the cotswold way as a section of it is a "friendship trail" or twinned with this section of the Olle trails.

I used my backpack as a "tripod" for the photograph of the mushroom. There had been a lot of rain and there were an abundance of mushrooms in the wooded areas.

Further along the tail, there were two girls smiling and waving at me, trying to seduce me into the cafe at the Koko resort. What can I say? I am easily seduced! As a snack of tacos hit the spot perfectly, washed down Sith iced Udo peanut latte.
It rained for most of the day, but it was warm. I had opted wearing shorts which largely negates the need to carry over-trousers. I did have a lightweight waterproof which would have been rather sweaty, but I was carrying my umbrella, which allowed me to leave my jacket partly open. The umbrella turned out to be very useful the next day, but as a parasol. I would not carry an umbrella bagging Scottish peaks, but it is extremely useful on these types of walks.

The route passes the Yonghwasa temple.

The route arrives at Pyoseon beach, but I continued along the start of Olle 4, in the expectation that I was approaching Dodam Dodam Pension -  my accommodation for the night. In reality, I had passed it earlier and ended up 6.5 km away. The proprietor was kind enough to pick me up, taking me to a take-away chicken place on the way!

Pyoseon - Namwon Olle
I took a taxi from the Dodam Dodam Pension to the Bulldog Cafe, which sas just short of where I had finished walking the previous day.

Google Lens/AI says:The crab in the image appears to be a species of Orisarma, likely Orisarma intermedium. This genus of crabs is native to East Asian coasts, including areas like Japan and China, and they inhabit intertidal and semi-terrestrial zones such as mangrove swamps and mudflats. There were many shore crabs, but most were dull olive green. This one stood out as being a particularly bright orange. Maybe, he is a Jeju SK fan?

On my completion of the Olle trails, I had to complete a short questionnaire, which included the questions, which I liked the most and which I liked the least. My favourite was Olle 9. The one I entered as liking the least was Olle 4. It was not the company I was keeping. I think it was just that we had previously done Olle 1-1 on Gapedo, starting Olle 4 early afternoon. At the end of my second round, I will not be putting it down as my least favourite. I enjoyed the macro photography opportunities and the cafes. I suppose the fact that rain was forecast and it had stopped during the early hours and became increasingly hot and sunny cast a more positive light on the route. I had remembered it as a boring march along roads. While there is a lot of road, there is some pleasant off-road sections too.
Due to some windy sections, I had lowered my umbrella and ended up getting a bit too much sun. Also, I had not eaten anything, relying on the energy from firstly, the peanut latte and later a mango smoothie. I bought a cold drink and rested for 20-30 minutes before heading for the football match.

Jeju SK 3 Suwon FC 4

While the game was between two weak teams in the K1 League, it was a fiercely contested match. There was an early penalty for an off-the-ball incident where their centre-forward, Paulo Sabbag lay on the ground for a long time and then got up looking pleased with himself once a penalty was awarded ready to slot the ball into the net. Jeju's Ju-hun Song had elbowed Sabbag in the face. I am not sure how mach contact was made, but Pablo Sabbag made the most of it, falling to the ground like a sack of potatoes. Jeju SK really battled to pull one back. Then it was 1-2 to Suwon before Jeju equalised in extra time of the first half. In the second half, the down to ten men Jeju team found themselves behind again before again equalising. Having battled so long with just ten men, it seemed particularly cruel when Suwon scored in extra time. In the 11th minute of extra time, the Jeju goalkeeper Dong-jun Kim received a second yellow card card for handling the ball outside of the area.  Jeju had another player sent off for kicking the ball away in frustration after the whistle was blown, then a fourth sent off for flooring Pablo Sabbag. I say sent off, but the player had already been substituted off!

I cannot remember if I have ever seen a team reduced to seven men before. When a team is reduced to six due to a combination of sending-offs and injuries, the match is abandoned.
