Silheung ri - Udo Ferry Terminal - Udo Sarangchae Pension
I had a four day weekend. The forecast for the Saturday was not good and I had chores at home to do. So, I set off for a stay at Kim's Cabin, close to the start of Olle 1, so that I could make an early start on the Sunday. The plan was to do most of Olle 1, until reaching the ferry port for Udo, and then completing part of Olle 1-1 before staying in a guest house. There are two ports on Udo and it seems totally random as to which you sail to, depending on the boat. My boat went to Udo Cheonjin port, the same as my last trip. You can start Olle 1-1 from either port as it is a circular route. Arriving at Cheonjin was probably for the best as it meant that I could cover more kilometres on day one and slightly reduce the walking the next day. This turned out to be a good thing as I was pretty exhausted at the end of day 2.

Udo Sarangchae Pension - Udo Ferry - Onpyeong-ri
This was quite a tough day, even though the distance and ascent was not much on paper. These days, I seem to struggle in hot, humid conditions. The route was broken up by a ride back to Jeju on the Ferry and fish 'n' chips in Seongsan. I seemed fine until reaching the end of Olle 2 but then seemed to struggle the short distance to my accommodation, at the Ocean Square Resort. I did stop at a cafe near to the resort, where I ordered two grapefruit ades. The owner was very kind and gave me some free crackers and an additional orange juice drink for free. I think that he recognised that I was feeling a bit weak.
I think that he white birds below are cattle egrets.

Onpyeong - Pyoseon
I started day 3 feeling much refreshed and had received an optional breakfast at the Ocean Square Resort. I went for the American breakfast option. There was no maple syrup and the eggs were broken, but it was still a very good start to the day. Olle 3A passes what is probably my favourite cafe on Jeju. This time, I just stopped for a tangerine ade and then an iced coconut latte to take with me. I later stopped for a carrot juice. I counted the number of carrots that went into the blender - there were 8 carrots to make just one drink. I am left wondering what they do with the remaining solids - perhaps carrot cakes?
I arrived at the end a bit fresher than the previous day. I briefly wandered over to the Jeju Folk Village but did not pay the entrance fee as I was tired and needed to return home to do some UCAS reports. I feel that I planned everything in this trip just about right. I will go back to do Olle 3B before continuing to Olle 4.
