I travelled from Hong Kong to Macau by "Super Class" on the TurboJet hydrofoil. The Hong Kong (Sheung Wan) terminal looked very much like an airport and with the passport control, it felt more like taking a plane, but without the popping ears. It is a very pleasant and quick way to travel.
I stayed at the Holiday Express Hotel. After leaving my baggage, I took the bus back to Lantau Island to take the Ngong Ping 360 cable car up to the Giant Tian Tan Buddha.
These were taken the next day. The sites include:
- Casino Lisboa 2008
- Saint Dominic's Church 1587
- Ruins of Saint Paul's 1640
- Monte Fort 1670
Water Lillies at the Monte Fort
Macau is a great place to simply wander and explore. I found a wonderful little cafe for a cold beer. This is a place where I can really relax.
From old Macau to the new: The shopping Mall of the Parisian Hotel.
I was told that Macau is best at night, so after a rest I went out for some street food and some night time photography. I am particularly please with the one of the Grand Lisboa. This was a 4 second shot at f/11 and ISO 200. My camera should really have been set at ISO 100 for an 8 second shot and maybe some more light trails, but I still really like the photo.
The next morning: A-Ma Temple
Flamingos at the Macau Giant Panda Pavilion.
Ailuropoda melanoleuca
Tin Hau Temple (A-Ma Cultural Village)
