My original plan had been to do a wild camp on the top of Beinn a'Mhuinidh near to Kinlochewe, but the weather forecast mentioned rain and winds that may impede walking on the ridges. It made a difference on how I packed - tent or just bothy gear. I was beginning to regret my decision to go for option B as I set up the pathless terrain of An Ruadh-mheallan. It seemed like such a fine day, though the ground was very wet and I had driven though a flooded section of road on my way up from Inveralligin. Some lower cloud and light rain arrived as I reached the summit. I was not carrying a tripod, so I tried to position my camera on various rocks, using the camera case as a cushion to prevent scratching of my camera on the rocks.
Photo #5 Common Frog (Rana temporaria). AI suggests that the insect larva is parasitic. I could only see one on it but maybe there are more on its underparts. I will try to find out more. I am not so sure that it is parasitic.
